How to apply to Ashby jobs with AI

Ashby forms have a built-in Autofill from resume option that employers can switch on, so AI tools have an easy start. Simplify Copilot and Jobright Autofill both name Ashby. Check the form after any tool fills it, because Ashby's conditional questions appear or vanish based on earlier answers, and a strict spam protection setting can stop some real candidates from submitting.

The short answer

  • Ashby's Autofill from resume fills name, email, location, education, and links such as LinkedIn or GitHub.1
  • Ashby processes resumes of 16MB or less for autofill, though files up to 50MB upload.2
  • Ashby saves progress on surveys and questionnaires for up to seven days after your last edit.3

How does the Ashby application form work?

Resume autofill

  • When the employer turns it on, an Autofill from resume field fills resume, name, email, location, education, and social links such as LinkedIn or GitHub.1
  • Resumes up to 50MB upload, but only those of 16MB or less are processed for autofill.2

Questions

  • Forms can include required, private, and conditional questions, where later questions show or hide based on earlier answers.2
  • Number fields reject a leading zero, which trips some zip codes.2
  • Ashby saves progress on surveys, questionnaires, and EEOC surveys for up to seven days after your last edit.3

Spam protection

  • Employers pick a spam protection level for their job board. Ashby says stricter levels can cause some candidates problems submitting.4

Can AI fill out Ashby applications?

Ashby's own autofill covers the identity fields, so a third-party tool adds most where it writes answers to the employer's questions. Conditional questions are the trap. Fill top to bottom and re-read the form after each yes or no, because a new required question may have appeared below.

If a submit fails on an Ashby form, do not retry rapidly. Wait, check every required field, and try once more, or email the recruiter.
